Description: I like Pit Bulls but am not sure about this one. My new neighbor got this Pit Bull (X?) pup in April and almost right away let the dog have free run of the neighborhood. An elementary school is two blocks away and the neighborhood in general has a fair number young kids and seniors. I asked him in April if he'd keep his pup off my front yard for safety and as a courtesy (the dog is right there when I'm backing my car out of the driveway). Since April puppy has been on the lawn 3 or 4 times a week. On other occassions the dog runs free in the street near a busy road, leaves litter and dog excrement on my lawn. He's tried to dig under a fence into both my and my neighbor's backyard. It's brave, doesn't scare or respond to it's owner when called, an elderly neighbor said she noticed that too. Today, June 13th I found out the dog went after a child, biting and tearing his pants as he tried to get away. On June 8th the puppy was tied to an approx. 30' rope and barked continually from approx 5:00-6:40 PM, just below my back sundeck. Again, I love pitbulls am not bashing them, but should the neighborhood be concerned about this doggy? July 4th: check our video of the puppy being kept in a garden shed with a big can of gasoline! |

deliracer ::: Favorites 2007-12-17 04:37:11 Would you be posting this if the dog was a lab or a spaniel? Most likely not. Don't feed the hype on these great dogs. He's a puppy. He's acting like a puppy. And yes, puppy's jump on and often knock kids down. I agree that it is the owners job to teach better behavior. Most of the time it looked like he was reacting to you and your camera though. "rooroogirl" you're an idiot. Your advise is worth about as much as your bag of penny's. "ethicomm" you sound like a cat owner. __________________________________________________

daniohs ::: Favorites 2007-07-05 06:18:33 Yeah, it sounds like the owner isn't stepping up... __________________________________________________
rooroogirl ::: Favorites 2007-06-27 18:24:37 thanks, and oops. I meant to say call animal control. lol. If you see the dog in your yard, you can take a sock full of pennys and slam it on the ground really hard. It will scare the pup and warn him off. If he is agressive, he will bark and growl. Then you know you have a problem. __________________________________________________
ethicomm ::: Favorites 2007-06-27 14:24:35 My sentiments exactly I appreciate your response, thanks! Someone has to be in control and it's got to be the owner. Pit bulls are cool little dogs for sure! __________________________________________________
rooroogirl ::: Favorites 2007-06-27 02:42:54 The owner needs to take charge and shows who is boss too. Tell them you WILL can animal control if they don't teach him some manners. I LUV pits. __________________________________________________
mar0069 ::: Favorites 2007-06-20 00:16:47 The ways the dog is ating is natural because of its age, you shouldn worry that much, but it would be advisable if the owner kept him either on a leash or on its property. you should ask him once more to keep the dog in his house, i own a pitbull they are not vicious animal but the owner of that pit is obviously putting the dog in danger by letting him run free in the street. __________________________________________________ |
