thats in other types of taekwondo.i do I.T.F. and you have to work hard to grade for each belt or youll fail and you wont get your belt if you dont know your pattern a sparring etc well...and also all the theory and the proper korean words.its definatley not easy especially when you get past my belt (green ) it gets harder every grading.i have seen kids online get belts for really bad patterns but its not I.T.F.were very serious about tkd

tae kwon do masters should leave philosophy and 'mind and body' ideas to the professionals, there honestly useless at the whole spiritual side of martial arts....its just a guise to fool people into thinking that its teaching you something.

It doesn't really matter what you think. Tae Kwon Do is a martial art. Why? It trains you in both mind and body. It takes dedication, just like any other.

hey abi get yourself a heavy bag i have one in my shed and i train alot on it my side kicks turning kicks and punches have inproved quit a bit since i started on it i just keep going until i can barely breath hahahahaha but it has paid off for me i can just about go as long as anybody in my class now and a bit more i think training alot at home is essential if your serious about it keep up the good work your small fella is a legend hahaha

Dave Condon from Naas sent me a link to a vid that someone from Kildare put up about the Tri Club comp and kind of linked in from there I guess. Ever get sick of people telling you how cool you're kid is? I showed my 7yr old a vid of him (she's a yellow belt) and told her she's no excuses:)

dave! how did you come accross this vid!i havent watched it since cos im mortified and prob said stupid things!!too bad about the pix i can always use the cork pix on our website i suppose!pretend its dub!i learned a lot from barada so hopefully i can apply that stuff,i just panic at the last sec all stratagey leaves me!eek!!but im only doing tkd a yr so i guess its not too bad!sparring in class is 1 thing but in comp is another!thanks for tips!i ask ng so many qu's im sure hes sick of me!

hay goostof thanks for the tips.yeh she gave a good fight, she seems like a nice girl, of course you can be friends but when you spar its all about winning as you know yourself!myself my husband and my son are all in my class its cool cos we get to pratise 2gether at home 2.its great for families.yeh the cork and dub clubs are good alright im sure ill end up meeting you at some stage!in fact a few pple from here!the world of tkd is soo small!

Hi Abigail,
I saw you're bout in Tramore, You were a bit too timid and more concerned about what the other girl was going to do to you,,,,but thats allowed since it was you're 1st comp! Just think of the points you can score next time and preventing you're opponent scoring on you (that easy!!) Get John to spar you some eve after class and he'll find youre weak areas and help you fix them.

hey ya im valerie from dublin m a 2nd degree in taekwondo itf aswell lived n cork for 15 years made da big move taekwondo clubs are brill up in dub my whole family is in it my sister was at da competiton u wer talkin about i know da girl u wer saprrin aswell ,and wat u said about sparrin never be afraid dats all i can say u ll learn to love it and think of every spar as a challenge on yourself think dat every spar u win is a step closer to you becoming better!!!!!
