As an expert, and someone who has been on the MA scene in HK for a long time...what does Mark think of the Gungfu stars there like Donnie Yen?

"you can't say the cars in the past were the best compared to the cars of today" - will somebody tell this to the Taiji/Bagua guys out there! This guy loves telling the truth!

well the older taichi\ bagua fighters were a bit better then the ones we have now. you don;t have masters like ching man ching or wang shu chin. and the level of skill in these arts are dying.

Ppl of today have greater potential than martial artists of the past b/c of access to information, nutrition, science, etc. But that doesn't mean that today's masters are neccessarily better. You still have to have the martial mindset and you still have to practice. Masters of the past had the correct mindset, constant daily and grueling training, purpose and reason for MA. Many today have the access and potential but lack the will power and determination.

I think a lot of western masters should listen to this man a lot to learn. Sifu Haughton has described a constructive way forward for all concerned.
