This is awsome, i do stuff like this to (check out my video, electronic lock). I was thinking about doing one of this plotters controlled from a pc, but i would like build the whole thing my self, do you know how the plotbot drives the x-y axys?? servos? steppers?

Internally, it uses analog servo motors, essentially DC gearmotors that are interfaced to large potentiometers that sense the position. Building one of your own isn't so very difficult.
