sdc100 ::: Favorites Although I think the DJ's should definitely be punished for their callous disregard of human life (re: the nurse's call), this is different from the hazing because she signed a waiver. Not only that but they even offered concert tix to have her quit. Furthermore, other contestants did drop out showing no coercion or restraint. sdc100 ::: Favorites I'm less concerned about water intoxification than the physical trauma of her distended abdomen. In rare cases, her stomach can burst. In a recording, she described herself as looking pregnant. That's a lot of pressure because the bulge has to push against the abdominal muscles and skin to show. Water intox is the imbalance of water and electrolytes/salt in the blood. Canaximander ::: Favorites First, I think if you check out who owns the radio station, I'd bet it's not just one rich old lady like WKRP. Betcha it's a very lagre corp. Make of that what you like. Second, I think their should be laws against such risky activity for a damn game. You don't have to be a Dr. to know 2 gallons in a sitting might hurt you. That being said I hope someone is pointing out that drinking the RIGHT ammount of water can be very good. Dehydration (even at small levels) also harms.
