Description: Hello, I'm Rebecca Field with a UPI entertainment update on this Monday, November 19, 2007. Some of America's biggest music stars were honored at last night's American Music Awards in Los Angeles. Former American Idol contestants Chris Daughtry and Carrie Underwood won big...grabbing 3 awards each. Daughtry took favorite breakthrough artist, adult contemporary artist and pop/rock album of the year. Underwood took country album of the year, favorite female country artist and the text in artist of the year award. Other big winners included Justin Timberlake who took best soul/R&B album for "Futuresex/Lovesounds" and favorite pop or rock male artist. Beyonce was honored with the international artist of excellence award. She's the first woman to take that award. Rihanna took the trophy for best soul/r&b female artist. And Fergie grabbed favorite pop/rock female artist of the year. The event featured performances by big stars like Alicia Keys and Celine Dion. The new fantasy thriller "Beowulf" topped U.S. box offices over the weekend. The film, starring Anthony Hopkins and Robin Wright Penn captured the number one spot in theaters, taking in more than 28 million dollars in its first weekend out. Jerry Seinfeld's "Bee Movie" came in second. And "American Gangster" with Russell Crowe and Denzel Washington landed in number 3. Actress Julianna Margulies has quietly tied the knot. She reportedly married the father of her baby Keith Lieberthal in Massachusetts on November 10. The two are expecting a baby, due in January. It was apparently a very small traditional wedding...she wore a Narciso Rodriguez gown and he wore an Armani suit. Margulies is known for her years on "E.R." and now working on her new show "Cantebury's Law." Nicole Richie celebrated her upcoming addition with a baby shower over the weekend. About 90 guests attended her Wizard of Oz themed party in Los Angeles. Her sister and friends...including Paris Hilton threw the shower. There's no confirmation on if the baby is a boy or girl but she reportedly received some gifts for a little boy...including a pair of designer sneakers.
